Probably a better book than the first one, but both are excellent. If you can pick up a few points, $25 or whatever is basically free. One key difference in the two books is all the captains in the first one said to stay 2 hours in a spot without a bite, i suspected that was bad advice. I have not finished this 2nd (too) book but the theme is to keep moving from the captains. I am not going to say the advice to wait 2 hours without a bite by about every captain in the first book is a flat out lie, but i seriously doubt they fish this way. I would purchase both books though as the different captains explain different techniques from trolling, casting, live bait, etc you can decide what style you like best. The 2nd book breaks down the seasons a little better as well.Product details

I like that the guides share their knowledge so freely. We've done well in a lot of these areas thanks to this book. The maps at the end of each chapter are great.
Lots of knowledge presented in a common sense way. I enjoyed reading the book and from the 10 or so fishing DVD, books, and maps I have purchased this one has provided the most valuable information. If you fish on the Gulf of Mexico coastal waters then this book covers your territory. Combine the information and get out fishing to apply what you learned. My enjoyment of fishing has increased along with the number of fish I am consistently catching.
